Integration guide

How Wayfair and Shopify Plus work together

Why?

The Wayfair + Shopify integration connects Wayfair with Shopify so Wayfair dropship orders can be managed from Shopify, while fulfilment and inventory updates are sent back to Wayfair.

Target

It is designed for brands, suppliers, ecommerce teams and operations teams that sell through Wayfair and use Shopify as their order management, fulfilment or inventory hub. Instead of manually recreating Wayfair purchase orders in Shopify, eligible orders can be imported automatically into the same operational queue as other sales channels.

Benefits

The integration helps teams reduce manual order entry, keep shipment tracking aligned with Wayfair, and update Wayfair stock from Shopify inventory changes to reduce overselling risk.

Data flows

What moves between the apps

Primary sync path

Wayfair is the source of truth for dropship purchase orders. The order import workflow runs every 15 minutes and checks the last 2 hours of Wayfair orders. Manual import is also available for testing, backfills or support investigations.

Shopify is the operational system for fulfilment and inventory. When a Wayfair order is imported into Shopify, fulfilment teams can process it from Shopify. When the order is fulfilled in Shopify, tracking information can be sent back to Wayfair in near real time.

Shopify is also the source of truth for stock levels. When Shopify inventory changes, the stock workflow can update Wayfair in near real time. If Shopify location filters are configured, only the selected locations are used for Wayfair availability.

Reliability

Monitoring, failure handling and manual replay

Synchron focuses on operational visibility after the sale: logs, error context, monitoring and replay where supported. Read about trust and reliability.

Failure handling

  • Configured transfers are monitored with workflow logs and error context so teams can see which record failed and why.
  • Failures commonly need the underlying issue corrected first, such as credentials, permissions, product matching, order state, carrier data or a marketplace API response.
  • Where the workflow supports it, corrected transfers can be replayed or manually re-run instead of starting the whole process from scratch.

Manual replay

  • Manual import is useful during onboarding, backfills, support checks and controlled reprocessing of specific records.
  • Replay still depends on correcting the underlying issue first, such as product matching, credentials, permissions or invalid source data.

Use cases

When to use this connector

  • Enable it when Shopify should be the central queue for Wayfair order fulfilment.

  • Use it when customers should receive delivery information based on Shopify fulfilments.

  • Use it when stock updates should be limited to specific Shopify warehouses or locations.
  • Use it to reduce manual stock maintenance in Wayfair.

FAQ

Common questions

How often does the integration sync data?

Wayfair order import runs every 15 minutes and checks the last 2 hours of orders. Tracking and stock workflows run in near real time when the relevant Shopify events happen.

What happens if a product cannot be matched in Shopify?

If automatic product creation is disabled, the order will not be imported until the Shopify product identifiers are corrected. You can match by SKU by default, or enable barcode matching if that better fits your catalogue.

Why was tracking not sent to Wayfair?

Check that the Shopify fulfilment belongs to a Wayfair order, includes the required carrier and tracking details, and that the Wayfair production permission for shipment updates has been verified.

How do settings and filters affect synchronisation?

Settings can change whether orders are acknowledged, whether Shopify stock is reduced on import, which Shopify locations are used for stock updates, how products are matched, and which tags are added to imported Shopify orders.
