Integration guide

How Fnac and Shopify Plus work together

Why?

The Fnac + Shopify integration connects a Fnac seller account with Shopify so marketplace operations can be managed from one central system. Fnac orders are imported into Shopify, while fulfillment tracking, inventory quantities, and seller-offer information can be sent back to Fnac.

Target

It is designed for merchants that use Shopify or Shopify Plus as their main system for order processing, fulfillment, inventory, and offer management. Teams can process Fnac orders alongside orders from other sales channels without repeatedly entering the same information in both platforms.

Benefits

The integration helps reduce manual order entry, keep Fnac availability aligned with Shopify stock, return shipment details automatically, and create or maintain Fnac seller offers from Shopify variants.

Data flows

What moves between the apps

Primary sync path

Fnac is the source of truth for marketplace orders. Every 15 minutes, the integration checks the previous 2 hours of Fnac orders and creates the corresponding orders in Shopify. Depending on the selected order strategy, eligible Fnac order lines can be accepted automatically after the Shopify order has been created successfully.

Shopify is the source of truth for fulfillment and inventory. When a Fnac order is fulfilled in Shopify, its tracking number and matched carrier are sent to Fnac in near real time. When Shopify inventory changes, the matching Fnac offer quantity is updated in near real time using either the Shopify SKU or barcode.

Shopify can also be used to create or update Fnac seller offers. Relevant Shopify variant changes trigger an offer import in near real time, using the selected locations, stock quantity, price, product state, dispatch time, and batch settings.

Reliability

Monitoring, failure handling and manual replay

Synchron focuses on operational visibility after the sale: logs, error context, monitoring and replay where supported. Read about trust and reliability.

Failure handling

  • Configured transfers are monitored with workflow logs and error context so teams can see which record failed and why.
  • Failures commonly need the underlying issue corrected first, such as credentials, permissions, product matching, order state, carrier data or a marketplace API response.
  • Where the workflow supports it, corrected transfers can be replayed or manually re-run instead of starting the whole process from scratch.

Manual replay

  • Manual replay is available where the configured workflow supports it and after the source data or configuration issue has been corrected.

Use cases

When to use this connector

  • Process Fnac orders from the same Shopify workspace used for other sales channels.
  • Let fulfillment and customer-service teams work in Shopify instead of copying orders from the Fnac seller portal.
  • Reduce errors in customer details, addresses, products, quantities, prices, and shipping information.
  • Accept eligible Fnac order lines automatically after successful Shopify order creation.
  • Fulfill Fnac orders in Shopify and return tracking automatically.
  • Keep Fnac order status and customer tracking information current.
  • Avoid copying tracking numbers and carrier details into the Fnac seller portal.
  • Keep existing Fnac offer quantities aligned with Shopify inventory.
  • Reflect sales, stock receipts, and manual inventory adjustments on Fnac.
  • Restrict marketplace stock to the warehouses that fulfill Fnac orders.
  • Combine multiple locations when they operate as one shared fulfillment pool.
  • Create Fnac seller offers for Shopify variants that should be sold on the marketplace.
  • Maintain offer stock and optionally price from Shopify.
  • Apply a consistent product state and dispatch time when creating new offers.
  • Process larger catalogs using controlled batch sizes and selected Shopify locations.

FAQ

Common questions

How often are Fnac orders imported?

The workflow runs every 15 minutes and checks the previous 2 hours of Fnac orders. Only orders in the configured Fnac state are selected.

Why is a Fnac order missing from Shopify?

Check whether the order is in the selected import state. With the ToShip strategy, the order must be accepted manually in Fnac first. Shopify can also reject creation when the selected inventory behaviour does not allow the order to be created.

When does Synchron accept a Fnac order automatically?

Eligible order lines are accepted only when automatic acceptance is enabled and the corresponding Shopify order has been created successfully. A failed Shopify creation never triggers acceptance in Fnac.

Why was tracking not sent to Fnac?

The Shopify order must have originated from Fnac, be fulfilled, and contain a tracking number. The Shopify carrier must also match a carrier accepted by the connected Fnac shop.

Why was a stock update skipped or rejected?

Confirm that the Shopify SKU or barcode matches the existing Fnac offer and that the correct reference method is selected. Also review any result returned by Fnac after processing the update.

How do location filters and aggregation affect stock?

The location filter decides which Shopify warehouses contribute inventory. Aggregation adds their available quantities together. Use aggregation only when Fnac orders can be fulfilled from the full combined stock pool.

Can existing Fnac offer prices and dispatch times remain unchanged?

Yes. Price updates and dispatch-time updates can be controlled separately. The configured product state is used only for newly created offers.
