Primary sync path

Amazon is the source of truth for new marketplace orders. The order import workflow runs every 15 minutes and checks the last 2 hours of Amazon orders that match the configured eligibility rules. Eligible merchant-fulfilled orders are created in Shopify.

Shopify becomes the operational workspace for preparing and fulfilling those imported Amazon orders. Product matching is based on the configured product reference, with the default setup matching the Amazon seller SKU to the Shopify SKU.

When an imported Amazon order is fulfilled in Shopify, Shopify becomes the source of truth for the shipment event. The tracking workflow runs in near real time from Shopify fulfilment events and sends carrier and tracking details back to Amazon.

Why is an Amazon order not appearing in Shopify?

Common reasons include the order not matching the selected Amazon marketplace, the order not being in an eligible fulfilment status, the order being fulfilled by Amazon rather than by the merchant, or a product SKU not matching a Shopify product.

What happens if an Amazon product cannot be matched to Shopify?

The order should not be created until the product can be matched. Make sure the Amazon seller SKU corresponds to the Shopify SKU, or adjust the product matching setup if your catalogue uses a different reference.

Can I import Amazon FBA orders into Shopify with this workflow?

No. This workflow is intended for merchant-fulfilled Amazon orders. Amazon-fulfilled or FBA orders are intentionally excluded.

Why is tracking not updating in Amazon?

Check that the Shopify order came from the Amazon import workflow, that the order has been fulfilled in Shopify, and that the fulfilment contains usable carrier and tracking information. If carrier names differ, add carrier mappings.

How do filters and options affect the sync?

Options such as marketplace selection, fulfilment status, fulfilment ownership, inventory behaviour and Shopify tags control which orders are imported and how they appear in Shopify. Review these settings whenever expected orders are missing or stock handling does not match your process.
